Our Story

Pickometer was founded in 2025 out of a simple frustration: the internet is full of "best of" lists written by a single person, but very few places where the community itself gets to decide. We wanted to build something different - a platform where the rankings are not handed down from above, but built from the ground up, one vote at a time.

We started with a handful of categories - football, basketball, hip-hop, and movies - and quickly discovered that people have strong opinions about everything. The debates in the comments sections of the internet are endless, but they rarely produce a definitive answer. Pickometer does. When you vote on Messi vs. Ronaldo or LeBron vs. Jordan, you are not just sharing an opinion - you are contributing to a living, breathing dataset that reflects what the world actually thinks right now.

What We Do

At its core, Pickometer is a head-to-head voting engine. We present two items side by side and ask a simple question: which one do you pick? The results are tallied in real time and feed into category-wide rankings, so you can always see who or what is on top. Our platform covers dozens of categories including sports, music, movies, TV shows, video games, technology, food, and more - with new matchups added regularly.

We take vote integrity seriously. Each account is limited to one vote per matchup in each category, enforced at the database level. Signing up is free and takes less than a minute - and it is what keeps the results honest.
